Celebrations marking 71st Birthday of First Lady of the Nation

On the occasion of the celebration of the birthday of the First Lady of the Nation, Constancia Mangue de Obiang, on 20th August, various activities were organised with folk groups and choirs from all ethnic groups in Equatorial Guinea, in order to sing her mañanitas and offer her gifts as tokens of affection and appreciation, but above all love and best wishes for health, prosperity and long life, because it is not every day one reaches 71 years of age.

Under the watchful eye of her husband, the President of the Republic, H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, the birthday girl First lady enjoyed the best moments of her seventy-first birthday, surrounded by her domestic staff, and the entourage including the Head of State’s civilian and military cabinets.

Mama Constancia felt very much loved and flattered by the declarations received on the occasion of her 71st birthday, and therefore reaffirmed her commitment to continue her unconditional and selfless support for the most vulnerable social strata in the country.

Furthermore, the First Lady issued a message to the Equatoguinean people to mark the occasion, “Those who believe in God tends to do good every day in order to receive blessings”.

For his part, the Head of State welcomed the popularity enjoyed by the First Lady of the Nation, “She is a great woman”, said H. E. Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

And as with all the ceremonies that take place at La Colina, the presidential couple were photographed with all the staff in a family atmosphere full of joyful festivities, humility and sympathy, with a fervent desire that scenes like this will be repeated every day.
