Somali Cabinet appoints 12 member committee to evacuate the Somali citizens in Sudan

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Salah Ahmed Jama chaired the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday and appointed a 12 member committee led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abshir Omar Jama (Huruse) for the evacuation of the Somali citizens in Sudan. The committee is tasked to evacuate the Somali citizens stranded in Sudan after the country went into war. A plane carrying 18 Somali Nationals evacuated from Khartoum, Sudan has on Wednesday landed at Mogadishu’s Adan Abdulle International Airport. Senior officials from Foreign Affairs Ministry received the citizens at the airport. The Somalia’s National Disaster Management Agency opened a round the clock hotlines for Somali Citizens in Sudan in need of evacuation two days ago.
