President Hassan Sheikh and his Djiboutian counterpart held a joint press conference

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and his counterpart of the brotherly Republic of Djibouti, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelle, who jointly held a press conference, spoke in depth about the importance of strengthening the brotherly relationship between the two countries.

The two presidents who held a meeting to analyze the strengthening of the shared interests of the two governments and finding solutions to the challenges in the region noted that they will cooperate in strengthening security, cooperation, economic integration and to jointly benefit from it and to take advantage of the opportunities in the Horn of Africa and the continent as a whole.

“Today the world is inseparable, therefore Somalia and Djibouti are located together in the Horn of Africa where there are many opportunities, circumstances and challenges. Since the region is strategic and important to the rest of the world, we must jointly decide how to share with other neighboring countries, taking advantage of our resources and active people from around the world.”

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said that Somalia and Djibouti share history, culture, religion and blood, which reflects the continuous support of the government and the people of Djibouti for the reconstruction of the government of Somalia, noting the importance of cooperation in the region.

President Ismail Omar Guelle thanked his brother President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation for their official visit to Djibouti, pointing out that the President’s visit is a sign of strengthening the existing relations between the two countries.
