War crimes, secession charges stir Moja Moja, detained for alleged coup statement


Ewume John Eko, suspended BIR officer under custody, may face charges for war crimes, torture assault, secession, conditional threats, hate speech and abuse of function. Following a file deposited against him at the Central Department of Judicial Investigation, Gendarmerie head quarters.

Barister Amungwa Nico Tanyi of the Nde Tso and Associate Law firm handling the case speaking on My Media Prime TV on August 13, said it wasn’t the first time, Moja Moja had been filed against.

‘We had filed complaint against Moja Moja at the military tribunal in Buea, the military tribunal in Yaounde, the department of Military Justice in Yaounde, Minister of Defense and at the Central Department of Investigation.

He said the complaints were not successful. However hinted that, the Central Department of Judicial Investigation, ‘were receptive and had to work with Secretary of State in the Ministry of Defense incharge of the National Gendarmerie.’

Barister Amungwa Nico further disclosed, the complaint was forwarded to the
Legion Commander of the South West region. Who he said didn’t do ‘the needful’, prompting their continuous follow-up in Yaounde.

Plaintiffs include Barrister Tamfu Richard, and family of late Bule Linus whose grievances also stated that, Moja Moja’s activities forge separatist agenda. They allege that some elites are at the back and need to be investigated.

‘His activities of hate speech were acclaimed if not corroborated by some elites and politicians of the South West,’ Barister Amungwa Nico asserted.

Nothing has been heard from Moja Moja since his arrest and evacuation to Yaounde, mid May. Linked to alleged coup plot interrogation.
