The head of Burkinabe diplomacy arrived in the Chinese capital to take part in the forum on Sino-African cooperation


Ouagadougou: Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation and Burkinabe Abroad, arrived in Beijing on the evening of Saturday, August 31, 2024.

He was welcomed by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burkina Faso, HE Lu SHAN, and the Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Beijing, HE Daouda BITIE.

The head of Burkinabe diplomacy will take part with the other members of the delegation which will be led by Prime Minister Maître Apollinaire Joachimson KYELEM of Tambèla, in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation 2024 edition.

Scheduled for September 4-6, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) is a decisive moment to strengthen strategic ties between China and Africa.

Burkina Faso will take this opportunity to strengthen its cooperation ties with the People’s Republic of China, and share its vision on the themes that will be discussed at this forum.

These mainly concern peace and security, political governance, industrialization and agricultural modernization, and
cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The FOCAC 2024 will be held under the central theme of “Joining hands to promote modernization and build a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future.”
