President Kais Saied focused on the general security situation in the country during a meeting with Interior Minister Kamel Feki at Carthage Palace on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the head of state stressed the need for officials in the regions, delegations and municipalities to assume their responsibilities in order to serve citizens in the best conditions and in the shortest time possible, according to a statement from the Presidency of the Republic.
He emphasised the need for officials in various positions not to wait for instructions from the central authority and, in many cases, from the Presidency of the Republic itself to provide a given service.
The President of the Republic also called for roads to be made safe in all regions of the Republic and for the slogan “safe holidays” to be replaced by “safe roads” throughout the year.
He also gave instructions to intensify patrols in order to combat all types of crime and food monopoly by “those who not only want to make illegal profits, but are also
involved with known parties whose aim is to create crises and inflame social conditions.”
