Addis ababa: After the video conference he held with COVID-19 Ministerial Committee on the activities underway to contain the pandemic today, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed said he is heartened by the efforts being exerted at different levels.
Following the conference, Abiy wrote: “I am pleased to hear that within Addis Ababa itself around 1,200 food banks have been setup for extreme eventualities.”
According to him, setting up multiple testing labs in regions is also ongoing with the aim of increasing daily testing capacity.
The premier further stated that “the potential to locally produce ventilators is being explored as we add new sites to the quarantine, isolation and treatment facilities.”
He finally commended all generous individuals who have been lending a hand in all manners and stressed that “unity is a pre-requisite for collective survival.”
