Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Sunday expressed condolences over the death of the first Ethiopian COVID-19 related patient.
Ethiopia reported its first corona virus-related death today after a 60-year-old woman has died of the pandemic.
“I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of our first COVID-19 victim. May she rest in eternal peace,” he said.
He urged all those who listening to this sad news to remain calm and strictly adhere to the measures that have been put in place.
“As we all collaboratively prepare for any scenarios, it is vital that we do so grounded in faith and work diligently to mitigate the spread in our communities,” the Premier noted.
Abiy advices to maintain physical distancing, wash hands and support each other in any way possible.
