Performance Contracting Improves Kitui Service Delivery


Kitui county Government has registered improved service delivery to its people owing to staff contract performance practice embraced throughout the 2022-2023 financial year.

As a result, the administration prides itself in significantly improving its revenue returns targets for the year, 2022.

Kitui county governor Dr Julius Malombe while leading county government employees in a celebration at Ithookwe Show grounds in the outskirt of Kitui Township, attributed the achievements of improved service in all of the county’s 16 sectors to institutionalization of performance management within the Kitui County Public Service.

‘Performance contracting has proven instrumental in elevating the quality of services provided to the public’ said governor.

The governor further observed that engagement of staff at their respective workplaces has witnessed a notable improvement in contributing to more efficient and effective service delivery in the government

The celebrations happened few days after Dr.Malombe presided o
ver the County Ministerial contracts for performance contracting monitoring and evaluation for the financial year 2022/24.

‘The event marked the culmination of efforts to enhance service delivery and foster accountability within the public services,’ the governor added.

He said that the implementation of Performance Contracting has not only set benchmarks for excellence but has also entrenched a culture of accountability and transparency within the public service of Kitui County.

He said the collective effort invested in this transformative initiative not only celebrated achievements but also served as a platform to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of all individuals involved in the public service of Kitui County.

‘As the county continues to stride forward in its commitment to excellence, the emphasis on performance management emerges as a cornerstone for sustainable development and improved citizen satisfaction,’ said the governor.

During the ceremony, Governor Malombe, awarded certificates to b
est performing sectors.

The Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani, the Kitui County Assembly Speaker Kinengo, along with County Executive Members, Chief Officers, directors, and all employees within the county Government establishment were in attendance.
