Moscow asks IAEA to identify source of attacks at Zaporozhye power plant

The permanent representative of Russia to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, during a meeting with the Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, demanded that the organization publicly name the culprit of the attacks on the nuclear power plant from Zaporozhye.

‘He particularly insisted on the need for the IAEA to publicly name those responsible for the regular attacks against the power plant. Silence on this issue only encourages further attacks that endanger nuclear safety,’ he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Last Sunday, the governor of the Zaporozhye region, Yevgeny Balitsky, said that the shelling of Energodar by the Ukrainian army caused a fire in the cooling facilities of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The press service of the plant reported that the fire broke out in the area of ????the cooling towers of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. The fire did not affect the operation of the plant, it was specified. IAEA experts have not identified the cause of the fire after two
inspections.
