Liberia will today take on the ‘Shoremen of the Red Sea’ of Djibouti in the return leg of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
The Lone Star of Liberia won the first leg away with a 0-1, Mamelodi Sundowns forward Anthony Laffor 56th minutes goal was enough to give Liberia the three points.
The introduction of South African based forward Kpah Sherman and FK Molde midfielder Dulee Johnson aroused the spirit of the nation’s pride.
Lone Star had possession of the match, but failed to score more goals. Liberia is now six points in the zone sits third behind Togo and Tunisia who are on top of the table with more goals.
A win for Liberia will place them in competition for a place at the 2017 finals in Gabon.
