Kericho Businessman Gifts Bodaboda Operators With A Shed

Boda boda operators working within Tebs area on the outskirts of Kericho town can now smile after they were gifted with a shed from a local businessman to create a conducive working environment for them.

The Sh280, 000 metal shed is constructed near Tebs View Court along the leafy suburb of Midwest Estate near Sidian Bank in Kericho.

Speaking after opening the shed, Kericho Chief Officer (CO) for Lands, Housing and Physical Planning docket Ms Betty Chebet called for more well-wishers and people of goodwill to partner with the county government in setting up of more sheds for bodaboda operators across the county.

Ms Chebet urged the boda boda riders operating at the Tebs Stage to maintain cleanliness as well as peace and order at their new designated working area.

The initiator of the project, a private entrepreneur, director and owner of Sagoo Motors Company Amarjit Sagoo said the Tebs stage shed will enable the riders to work in a friendlier environment suitable for them and their customers.

David Talam
a rider, who serves as Tebs area stage secretary lauded the offer adding that before the shed was constructed whenever it rained they would reluctantly fail to show up for work because they had nowhere to shelter hence missed making their living.

‘This shed is meant to protect us bodaboda operators from the sun and rainfall while waiting for our customers as well as from motor vehicle accidents which we have witnessed in the last two years at our previous working stage,’ said Talam.
