The Avi Sivan Abraham Foundation, ASAF, created by Eran Moas, has been instrumental in the recovery of Carlson Balon, 7, who was brutally bitten by a Hyena at the Mvog-Betsi Botanical and Zoological Garden in the centre region, on May 27, 2024.
The humanitarian gesture from ASAF consists of providing comprehensive support and medical care for Carlson. Eran Moas, who was deeply touched by this incident, promised to send Carlson and his parents to India for further treatment. The trip to Hyderabad, India is scheduled for tomorrow August 10, 2024, where the kid is expected to receive a prosthetic arm and offer psychological support to help him recover from the trauma.
‘This initiative and donation made by ASAF Cameroon amount to over USD 50,000. Carlson’s case resonates with one of Eran Moas’ philanthropic missions through ASAF Cameroon: to protect and support every child in Cameroon who feels hopeless, stigmatized or isolated after experiencing a traumatic event,’ ASAF said in a press statement.
Carlson’s pa
rents hail from the English-speaking part of Cameroon, and his father works as a veterinarian in the same zoo. An aggressive hyena severed Carlson’s right arm while he was having fun with his friends at the zoo.
Piloted by a visionary philanthropist and accomplished entrepreneur, the Avi Sivan Abraham Foundation (ASAF) Cameroon, created in 2019, is a true haven of solidarity for vulnerable populations.
Guided by the values of humanism, solidarity, and mutual aid, the organization deploys its action on several fronts, fervently attacking the evils that undermine Cameroonian society.
ASAF also focuses on making access to better health their priority, fighting against poverty and exclusion, child protection, community development, and protection of fauna and flora.
