Cheza Dimba Tournament to be held at Mumias Sports Complex


The Tujiamini initiative powered by gaming firm SportPesa will tomorrow unveil the Western Region Gold winner and host the Cheza Dimba Tournament at the Mumias Sports Complex, Kakamega County.

According to Sportpesa Public Relations Officer, Mercy Kabui, six teams from across the western region will compete for the coveted three-year Tujiamini sports sponsorship package and an award of Sh250, 000.

The winner will also feature in the end-year nationwide Tujiamini cheza Dimba tournament finale against other regional winners.

She also said the tournament will feature the ladies’ exhibition match in keeping with the Tujiamini spirit of supporting young and budding talents.

After a month of entries and nominations, a Kenyan sprint athlete and a former rugby player, is expected to be awarded Sh500, 000 in support of his long-term career goal to run 100 meters in under 10 seconds.

‘The Tujiamini sponsorship has been a game-changer for previous Cheza Dimba winners, providing much-needed financial support and resources to nurture their talents,’ she said.

She added that this year’s winners will have the opportunity to take their football careers to new heights with the comprehensive support package.

Organizers are expecting high participation as interest in the tournament continues to grow and the matches will take place at the Mumias Complex Stadium, which offers excellent facilities for both players and spectators.
