Burkina: Fight against urban crime and typhoid fever disease on the front page of Burkinabè daily newspapers


Ouagadougou: This Wednesday’s publications echo the seizure of 9,720 cartridges of expired shisha products and drugs by the national police in the city of Bobo-Dioulasso.

‘Fight against urban crime: 9,720 cartridges of expired shisha products and drugs seized,’ state daily Sidwaya says on its front page.

According to the newspaper, it was thanks to the collaboration of the population that a store in which 810 boxes of expired shisha products were stored was located.

These products were smuggled in by public transport companies.

In addition, another seizure was made from the hands of women of foreign nationality. Indeed, the modus operandi of these ladies consisted of carefully hiding the drugs in handbags as well as clothing bags.

The private daily Le Pays adds that the overall value of all these seizures amounts to more than 90 million.

The National Police thanks all citizens who work with the security forces and urges them to remain vigilant by continuing to report suspicious cases.
