Ouagadougou: The Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly, achieved 35% of his objectives contract in the first half of 2024.

The assessment of the Prime Minister, Me Apollinaire Kyèlèm de Tambèla, noted that the Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly, fulfilled his contract of objectives at 35%.

The Minister of State explained that the department in charge of National Defense had planned to carry out 50% of activities, but found itself with a rate of 35% in the first half of the year.

Brigadier General Kassoum Coulibaly spoke on Wednesday in Ouagadougou, during the evaluation of his objectives contract by the head of government, Me Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla.

The Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs also indicated that this 35% reflects the reality on the ground.

‘It’s not about going into a speed race. We are in a long-distance race,’ he maintained.

According to him, resources being a little scarce
, it is appropriate to provide combatants with everything they need to track down the enemy.

The Minister of State noted that his ministry is ‘atypical’ and ‘specific’, because according to him, it must combine forecasts and the conduct of actions on the ground.

‘Even if we carry out a program, it can happen that in the conduct, we are given instructions and we have to readjust, and that is what happened for this first semester,’ he continued.

Brigadier General Coulibaly also noted that what was to be proposed in April underwent modifications in May and June.

He also noted that the main thing for his department is to ensure that it is on the right line in the fight against terrorism.
