Addis Ababa Addis Ababa University and the Administrative Boundaries and Identity Issues Commission have signed an agreement that enables the university to undertake a scientific study on administrative boundaries and identity issues across the country today.
The commission has allocated 20.5 million birr to conduct the study by able experts drawn from different universities, it was learned.
The study is expected to be completed within a year.
Administrative Boundaries and Identity Issues Commission Director-General, Awelu Hussein and Addis Ababa University President Professor Tasew Woldehana signed the agreement.
The objectives of the commission, established two years ago, is to submit recommendations to the public, the House of Federation, the House of People’s Representatives and the prime minister through the analysis of causes and causes of administrative boundaries conflicts, self government and identity issues in participatory, explicit, inclusive and scientific manner..
